NINE – REMEMBERING THE PAST – IMAGINING THE FUTURE

The year they were being born the words ‘twerk’ and ‘selfie’ were being added to the dictionary.

Since then it’s been an eventful nine years;

Brexit, Minecraft, a climate change emergency, Donald Trump, COVID-19.

But what do they remember and what was actually important to them?

So what does the future look like to these young people? How will they look in the future? Will the world last? Will we ever return to the ‘old normal’? Do they think there will ever be a female pope? Will we eventually all start falling in love with robots?

When they turn 18 the year will be 2031. What will the world be like by then?

This new project from Bootworks Theatre Company is supported by GL4 and Strike a Light and will comprise of workshops with children from Robinswood Primary School who will then perform on the Saturday evening. The project will strive to champion the voices, perspectives, and world-views of local young people.
